The Jetsons, Earth’s foremost space age family, premiered on prime time television in 1962, and ran only two years in an evening time slot. “Jetson’s Photo Opportunity” is taken from an original drawing by award-winning Hanna-Barbara animator, Bob Singer. The background was painted by Warner Bros. master background painter, Dennis Durrell. This edition is signed by Joe Barbera and Bob Singer.
“The Jetsons,” Hanna-Barbera second prime time cartoon, aired in 1962 becoming another hit for the Hanna-Barbera studio. The Jetsons, based in the 21st Century world filled with space ships, robots, elaborate electronic gadgets and labor saving devices.
The characters in this futuristic cartoon series are George Jetson, his wife Jane, Judy is their teenage daughter, Elroy their young son and Astro the family dog. Rounding out the cast is Rosie their robot maid, Henry the Skypad apartment supernatant where the Jetsons live, Cosmo Spacely George’s boss and H.G. Cogswell who owns the rival company to Spacely.
